MALLORCA APRIL 2022

Trip to Pollenca, Mallorca, April 2022

With Covid 19 restrictions being gradually & finally lifted, a large group of SDV members travelled to Mallorca in April 2022 for some early season training and socialising.

Riders mostly organised their accommodation and rides through Stuart Hall Cycling holidays (Here) staying at the Playa Mar in Pollenca and making the most of the rides organised by Stuart Hall, adding a few days of SDV only groups too.

The weather (as the photos will attest to) was fabulous for the last week of April, with days averaging a pleasant 17 degrees and light winds throughout. There was plenty of sunshine and time for a cooling ale or two after some pretty decent riding.

Several members ended the week riding the 13th Edition of the Mallorca 312 Sportive. Full credit to Phil Phillips, in particular, who rode the full distance of 312 kms and smashed it in a time of 12.5 hours. Credit goes to Shaun Smart, James Howard & John Rowlands who also entered the event and tackled the big climbs and early start!

Another trip is planned for the end of April 2023 to Mallorca to coincide with the 312, so look out for the dates on the website, or chat to a Committee member on the Club rides. Members will book their own travel arrangements, accommodation and entry to the 312, so don’t delay!
